Evelyn and Alfredo: Destination Maui!

•August 18, 2009 • 1 Comment

|mist| was at the island of Maui for Evelyn and Alfredo’s destination wedding.  The two New York residents (check out their engagement shoot) converged to Maui, along with family and friends from places like Manila, London, Hong Kong, Seoul, Los Angeles, and of course, New York to witness this special couple’s wedding vows and celebration.

The groom with his favorite Mont Blanc watch getting ready…

And some finishing touches and he’s ready to head out to the beach!

Meanwhile, Evelyn is getting ready in her room at the Four Seasons.  This candid moment was after a long struggle fitting her veil!

And just a little touch of lip color…

And she’s ready to strike a pose!  We didn’t get a chance to shoot a bridal portrait session so we wanted to take some of Evelyn in her beautiful dress just before heading out to the beach ceremony.  Here she is looking out of her balcony…

And a short pause at the lobby…

The lovely bride right before heading out to the beach…

And now on to the beach!  The weather was perfect (so much for Hurricane Felicia) and we had this great shot of Alfredo waiting for Evelyn

Evelyn and her Maid of Honor walk down to the beach

Her father walks her down the ‘aisle’…

We got this great moment of Evelyn’s father shaking hands with Alfredo

“You may now kiss the bride”…as the officiant blows the conch shell while family and friends look on…

We just loved this image of the two with the musician playing in the background…

The newly-weds leave the beach and head over to their reception!

Spago at the Four Seasons was the site of their elegant reception…

The cake, flower arrangement (love that flower and feather combo!), as well as their giveaways…

It’s almost a shame to cut such a beautifully-designed cake…

The highlight of the evening was most definitely their First Dance – the two were expert Salsa dancers…so after a quick wardrobe change, they showed off their dancing skills to the delight of the crowd (some of whom had NO idea that they were good enough to compete in Dancing w/ the Stars…and Evelyn’s father even requested an encore!)

Feel free to leave a comment or well-wishes for the couple.  Congratulations to Evelyn and Alfredo (and that’s one anniversary day that will be hard to forget – 8/8)!

UPDATE: To view Mae and Rico’s formal photos, please click HERE.

These past few months have been a whirlwind of activities for |mist| and we are delighted that all of our weddings have been wonderful; our couples beautiful and simply amazing people. Mae and Rico’s wedding last July 18th was no exception.   They are such a sweet and lovely couple, and we had the opportunity to take some incredible shots of them.  A few of the stand outs:

The ceremony was held at the beautiful and stately Christ the King Catholic Church.  We love shooting there and it’s always a joy to work with coordinator Colleen Harkins!  We love this shot of Mae being walked down the aisle by her father. It’s an absolute classic.

Christ the King is one of our favorite Churches to shoot at. The decor is amazing

And of course, the kiss . Check out Rico’s sneakers!

Mae and Rico leaving the Church amid much celebration!

Westin Park Central was a great location for the reception, and the staff was great!  We did not run out of places to shoot at.  Here is a photo of Rico and the guys at the hotel lobby.

We normally do not do selective coloring in our photos, but this was a special request of the couple, and we also couldn’t resist taking a shot of Rico’s groovy green sneakers!  We were told that he has a vast collection of shoes and we believe it!

We just love this shot of Mae and the girls. High drama worked really well in this photo

A sweet one of the couple

Taken in the elevator, this is one of our favorites!

The ballroom was beautifully decorated thanks to Gabbie of GSquared Special Events! We have worked with Gabbie before and she has always done an excellent job!  Here is a shot of the wedding and groom’s cakes

Fun shot of the bouquet toss!

This crowd definitely knew how to have a good time!

Thank you Mae and Rico for the beautiful wedding!  We can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos.

Since we at |mist| just finished covering Mae and Rico’s wedding last weekend,  we can finally show you the images from Mae’s Bridals Session at Las Colinas! We had a ton of fun at this shoot. Mae was a joy to work and we appreciated the fact the she drove from Houston to Dallas for our session!  We definitely enjoyed our time with her and we can’t wait to show everyone images from their wedding. Here are a few of our favorites from the bridal:

We just loved Mae’s expression here and the overall feel of this shot

Perfect timing for the wind to pick up and give movement to Mae’s veil

A fun and playful shot, and a beautiful smile!

Mae can work it, no question! :)

A beautiful close up of the bride

We loved the ray of sunlight and the dramatic effect it lent to this shot

The gorgeous detailing of the back of Mae’s dress – definitely one of our top faves

Check back soon – we will be posting images from Mae and Rico’s wedding!

Alka and Ryan are probably one of the most extraordinary couples we’ve met.  Both very talented and intelligent, they remain humble at heart and are so thoughtful of other people’s needs.  Because of these traits we at |mist| had an amazing time covering their wedding at the Four Seasons last Fourth of July weekend.   We also had the pleasure to work again with Hala, who did an excellent job planning and overseeing this event and Hakim Sons Films, who we are certain captured this special day in video perfectly.  The beautiful decor, engaging performances, and the fantastic crowd – this was a celebration full of fun, laughter and pure happiness.  Here are a few of our favorites from the day:

Alka just radiates in her dress created by Prashe

Alka and her lovely bridesmaids having fun before the ceremony

Ryan performing the Baraat surrounded by his family and friends.  In a baraat, which means marriage procession in Hindi, it is customary for the groom to travel in a horse when meeting his bride.

The couple sharing a smile at the ceremony

We just loved the decor and use of color at the ceremony

The reception at the ballroom was gorgeous. This cake was a work of art in itself!  Just look at the details – amazing.

The lighting, flowers, the set up – it was a feast for the senses

Alka and Ryan and their first dance – we just loved Alka’s expression!

A dazzling performance – literally! The confetti thrown by the dancers added that magic touch.

And the dancing begins! Alka and her mom groovin’ on the dance floor with Ryan looking on in the foreground

Guests were each given a Lucky Elephant Tealight Holder as a souvenir. We thought it would be cute to set their wedding rings on the little eli’s trunk!

Alka and Ryan playing the ring game which produced much laughter from the crowd

Why, it is the Fourth of July isn’t it? The wedding providing its own fireworks by sending off the happy couple with sparklers.

Alka and Ryan – thank you so much for the beautiful wedding! We can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos!

Lindsay and Jonathan: Good Times at the Colonial

UPDATE: To view Lindsay and Jonathan’s wedding formals, please click HERE.

These past several months have been extremely busy for |mist| and we are so fortunate to have wonderful clients that make our work, well, not seem like work! A prime example is Lindsay and Jonathan. They have got to be one of the most fun couples we’ve ever met! So happy and at ease with themselves, we had a great time covering their wedding. The day started at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Keller and they danced the night away at The Colonial Country Club. Definitely fun times!

Lindsay full of excitement before the Ceremony:

Lindsay and her gorgeous bridesmaids and flower girl

Don’t let the tough guy look fool you – Jonathan and his groomsmen are a very fun group!  This is a cool shot though that we love to take of the guys

The radiant bride

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church served as a beautiful location for the Ceremony

The couple sharing a private moment

The ride to the Colonial on a hummerlimo – these guys are ready to party!

For this fun loving group, a jump shot was called for!

We just loved this shot of Lindsay and Jon

The candy as giveaway was adorable, and even more so set against the couple’s wedding rings

Jon REALLY wanted to get that garter! :)

We weren’t kidding when we said this group was so much fun – they even had a choreography going during one of the songs played!

We just love sparklers! The happy couple surrounded by loved ones as they ended the night

As the Range Rover whisks them away, Lindsay and Jon start a new beginning - definitely with double the fun and laughter!

Congratulations guys! We wish you a wonderful life together!

Sasha and Aaron: A Beautiful Wedding at The Tribute

UPDATE: To view Sasha and Aaron’s formal photos, please click HERE.

Wonderful couple and great ambiance make for a memorable wedding! |mist| was at The Tribute Golf Club last June 13th for Sasha and Aaron’s wedding and we simply enjoyed ourselves covering this big day.  The biggest factor that made this wedding a success was the happy and relaxed personality of the couple, and we believe the photos show that. Here are some of our favorites from the wedding:

Aaron jokingly attempts to make a run from the ceremony while his groomsmen pull him back

The adorable ring bearer and flower girl

Sasha’s look of excitement as she walks down the aisle with her dad

The Tribute Golf Club was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony

Sasha was so emotional during the whole ceremony, you can see tears streaming down her face as she said her vows to Aaron

A moment of laughter!

And of course the kiss!

A classic shot of the newlyweds

The very happy couple ready to start the reception!

But first, a shot of the wedding party! The Tribute really had great locations to shoot at

The First Dance. The lanterns added to the great ambiance of the ballroom

The ballroom beautifully transformed

We got this candid shot of the flower girl next to the cake that just looked amazing…

The weddings bands and ring against Sasha and Aaron’s wedding invitation

Sasha and Aaron share a light moment while cutting their cake

Aaron ready to throw the garter!

Everybody loved to party in this wedding! This junior bridesmaid in particular was an amazing dancer!

The DJ called everyone to the dance floor, and he was serious! Fun shot of the crowd

We didn’t want the party to end, but we especially loved this leaving shot. The bubbles were captured beautifully

Our absolute favorite – Sasha and Aaron simply perfected the dip!

Thanks you guys for the wonderful wedding! We truly had a blast! To everyone, please feel free to leave a comment or two!
