Smita and Darrel: Part II- More Magic at the Marriott – Indian Wedding Ceremony by mist Photography

You’ve seen the previews from the Mehendi ceremony, so |mist| was looking forward to getting even more great images from their wedding day.  Smita and Darrel’s traditional Indian wedding ceremony was held at the Marriott at the Shops of Legacy and it was quite an event, complete with 2 large screens on each side of the room!  Here are a few previews from their special day:

While Darrel was tucked away (well, he did end up being ‘hidden’ in the restaurant), we got this classic image of Smita

The ladies were having the giggles since they were just too happy and could not hold a serious pose…so we went for a fun shot instead!

Smita wasn’t nervous (or at least didn’t show it) and here was another great shot of her gorgeous smile

The ballroom was transformed with a stage and 2 large screens on both sides! Those red uplights also filled the room with color. There was this Academy Awards feel in the air…

We have a lot of great images from the ceremony, but here’s one of the key moments when both sets of parents give their blessings to the new couple

They literally ‘tied the knot’…

The coconut symbolizes fertility for the couple..

And the two are finally married!

Right after the ceremony, we snuck outside for a few shots of just the newly-weds!

After a brief break, we took this fun shot of Smita (which looks like it belongs on a magazine cover!)…and yes she did change to a different dress to get ready for the reception!

We also love the classic black & white images at |mist|, but this wedding was so colorful, it was hard to find something that we liked better in monochrome…except for this one of the two walking to the reception (and yes, Darrel did change to a very fashionable suit also)

They had a pair of lovely cakes…

but the two couldn’t bear to cut up Darrel’s groom’s cake – inspired by Master Chief’s helmet from Halo…

There were several encore performances from Saturday’s party! Smita’s dad and uncle continue their performance as the ladies look on…

One of our favorites from the evening is this image of Smita and Darrel dancing with family and friends in the foreground and background.  Just look at this one for a little longer…isn’t there a little piece of magic captured in this shot?

And possibly some of our best dance shots from a single wedding ever - the floor was always packed!
